For the foodies out there

Here is a new blog about the quest for great haute cuisine.
You would think that by virtue of the name of this category of food, which means high cuisine, or fine dining, it would be easy enough to find a good meal. But fine dining is about more than just the intricately prepared food, it is about the whole experience from the setting, that is, the restaurant, to the service. Yet, when it all boils down, everything else has to act as a complement to the food.
The Gourmet Hound serves up the latest dish on what's being dished out at these restaurants (see all the puns!)
Be rest assured that none of the meals being reviewed are paid for, or sponsored by restaurant management. So you can sleep safe in the knowledge that all compliments you read in the reviews are honest and heartfelt. That said, you will most certainly be able to find all those I-can't-believe-I'm-paying-an-arm-and-a- leg-for-this-nonsense comments basking in their full glory.
Here is my favourite line from Gourmet Hound's first review of Saint Julien, which claims to be one of the best French restaurants in Singapore:
"The Summer oysters from Marennes, France was less than sparkling fresh. If you believe that oysters have little souls and dream briny dreams, half a dozen half shelled oysters drowned on me. If their souls hadn’t been collected, they were half the distance there."
