Stella McCartney has opened it's first standalone boutique in Singapore today.
Of course, all her creations are crazily overpriced (a silk tunic dress costs $2400, after which I did not dare to peek at the price tags anymore), but they're beautiful to just gawk at. Take in her fall collection of coats, slouchy sweaters and girly separates in her signature muted palatte of greys and pinks. Also available are a small collection of bags and shoes, which I think are made of non-leather materials like vinyl, because McCartney is an environmentally conscious vegan. Go see for yourself at Takashimaya, second floor.
In other news, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Isetan at Wisma Atria has an inhouse boutique for Theory, which specializes in elegant, well-designed clothes for work and play.
I especially love the fit of their pants - I bought two pairs at a sample sale in New York - which are long enough so I can wear heels with them. Do not expect the prices to be cheap, but Theory's classic clothes look as if they will last for at least 10 years, and stay in fashion till then. I did not have enough time to browse the clothes carefully, but I will definitely be making my way back soon.
