First post of the year

A (rather belated) Happy New Year.

It has been a pretty good start to 2008.
I welcomed 2008 on the rooftop of my hotel in Istanbul, teeth chattering with cold as fireworks went off all over the city.
I bought myself two gorgeous pairs of shoes a couple days later, all better to walk over people standing in my way with.
And best of all, I finally passed my practical driving exam. No more taking ridiculously expensive driving lessons or rushing to the school for lessons.

It's gonna be a great year, and I wish the same to one and all.
